Welcome to AlwaysFresh. By downloading, installing, or using our mobile application, you agree to
comply with and be legally bound by these Terms, Conditions of Use, and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with
any part of these terms, you must not use the application.
PART 1: TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE
1. Service Description
AlwaysFresh is a tool for food inventory management and waste prevention. The application organizes the
information entered by the user (dates, names, codes). AlwaysFresh does NOT guarantee the safety or real state of
the food; the user is solely responsible for verifying if a product is fit for consumption through physical
inspection (smell, sight, touch). The application includes a Shopping List that allows the user to manage the
products they wish to restock; the inclusion of items in this list is manual or suggested by the app following the
removal, consumption, or donation of a product.
The app may display local reminders on your device for notices of products nearing expiration, according to the
user's settings. These reminders are managed through the optimized local scheduled notification system, respecting
the sleep and battery-saving policies of each operating system, without collecting or transmitting user data.
These reminders do not constitute sanitary advice nor guarantee the fitness of the food.
2. Usage Models and License
- Personal Use (Households): Free of charge up to a limit of 50 simultaneously registered
products.
- Commercial/Business Use: Requires the acquisition of the "Unlimited Version" via a one-time
in-app purchase.
- License: You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, and revocable license. Reverse
engineering, redistribution, or duplication of the source code without express written permission is strictly
prohibited.
3. In-App Purchases
The application offers an upgrade to the "Unlimited Version". All transactions are processed exclusively by
Google Play Store and Apple App Store. AlwaysFresh does not store or have access to your credit card details or
financial information. Refund policies are governed solely by the terms and conditions of the respective
application stores.
4. Limitation of Liability
AlwaysFresh shall not be held liable for:
- Illnesses, health issues, or damages arising from food consumption, regardless of whether the application
indicated the products had not expired.
- Donation Functionality: AlwaysFresh facilitates the creation of product lists to share with
third parties (donations). AlwaysFresh does NOT act as an intermediary in the physical delivery of items, nor
does it assume responsibility for the condition of the donated food; the user is solely responsible for ensuring
that any shared food is fit for human consumption in accordance with all local laws and regulations.
- Loss of data resulting from device failures, malfunctions, or application uninstallation.
- Discrepancies or errors in automatic translations of product names.
5. Minimum Age
This application is intended for users over 13 years of age. If you are a minor, please use the app only under
the supervision of a responsible adult.
6. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Changes will take effect immediately after their
publication in the application or on our website.
PART 2: PRIVACY POLICY (Data Security)
7. Information Collection
- Local Data: Most of the information (including food names, dates, barcodes/QR codes, Shopping
List items, and backup files) is stored locally on your device. AlwaysFresh does NOT collect, store, or transmit
personal photographs or user images.
- Technical Data: The application may process non-identifiable technical data (e.g., device
language or operating system version) for operations, compatibility, and support purposes. AlwaysFresh does not
operate proprietary servers to build personal user profiles, nor does it sell personal information.
8. Device Permissions
- Camera: Used exclusively for scanning barcodes and QR codes. No environmental images are
captured or stored.
- Notifications: To display local reminders for products nearing expiration.
- Storage: To save and read inventory backup files.
9. Third-Party Services
To function properly, AlwaysFresh utilizes the following services:
- Local Translation Dictionary: Product name translations are performed 100% locally on the
device using an embedded dictionary. No data is transmitted to external translation servers.
- Google ML Kit: Utilized exclusively for scanning barcodes and QR codes. Camera access is
strictly limited to scanning these codes, and all image processing is performed locally on the device; no
environmental images are captured or retained.
- Application Stores: Apple and Google collect specific data to process purchases and provide
anonymous usage statistics.
- Version Verification (Optional): If enabled within the application settings, AlwaysFresh may
query a remote URL to check versioning and compatibility policies, and to display update notifications. This
request may be subject to the processing of technical network data (e.g., IP address) by the hosting service
provider, consistent with standard internet connections.
10. User Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
You have the right to access, rectify, or delete your data. Because the application operates locally, you can
delete all of your information simply by clearing the application data in your mobile device's settings or by
uninstalling the application.
If you export a backup file (for example, to the Downloads folder or a user-selected directory), that backup file
remains under your exclusive control and responsibility. The application does not automatically upload backups to
its own servers.
11. Data Retention
All your data is stored exclusively on your device. We do not retain personal information on servers. If you
uninstall the app, all your data will be permanently deleted.
12. Security
We are committed to protecting your information; however, please be advised that no method of internet
transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure.
